Amazon.com Product Description Keep yourself hydrated with the environmentally friendly Klean Kanteen stainless steel water bottle, which now comes in a variety of colors. Klean Kanteens are made from #304 stainless steel, the material of choice in the food processing, dairy, and brewery industries. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, inert, sanitary, toxin-free, and non-leaching. It's also toxin- and BPA-free and recyclable to boot. Klean Kanteen bottles do not have to have a special lining like some other metal bottles, and they won't ever leach nasty tastes or chemicals into your drinks--no matter how many years you use it. The large-mouth design makes it easy to pour in ice cubes or a smoothie packed with frozen strawberries. It's also easy to clean--just scrub it out with white vinegar and baking soda (or mild soap and water), or load it in the dishwasher. It's topped by a polypropylene looped cap that makes it easy to grab on the go. All Klean Kanteens are backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Klean Kanteen bottles come in several sizes:

The Klean Kanteen Kolor range. | Frequently Asked Questions Why is the sports cap made of plastic and not stainless steel? Your teeth. Klean Kanteen chose polypropylene #5 because it has no known leaching characteristics and is softer if you hit a bump on the trail. If you'd rather avoid plastic altogether, a stainless steel screw-on lid is available as an accessory. Can I put hot liquids in my Klean Kanteen? No. Klean Kanteen bottles are single walled and not for use with hot liquids. Warm beverages can be used at personal comfort level. The single-walled construction allows for more volume and the option to put your Kanteen on a flame. Can I put my Kanteen in the freezer? We do not recommend it and it will void the one-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Can I put my Kanteen on a stove? In a pinch, the Kanteen can be placed on fire or a stove. Beware not to melt the plastic lid or burn yourself. What is stainless steel? Stainless steel is an iron-containing alloy made from some of the basic elements found on earth: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. Properties of the final alloy are tailored by varying amounts of these elements. There are more than 57 stainless steels recognized as standard alloys on the market. Klean Kanteens are constructed from high quality sanitary grade 304 stainless steel which has a low nickel content. Stainless steel has excellent resistance to stain or rust due to its chromium content making it a material of choice among the food processing, dairy and brewery industries. Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, inert and sanitary.

Love it! January 6, 2009 I have been trying to steer clear of bottled water not just for environmental concerns, but the health concerns as well. I just LOVE the Klean Kanteen bottles, I swear it even makes the water taste better! It also encourages me to drink MORE water and of course, the best part of it is I am not thinking about how I am wasting money/plastic while drinking it!
Love it! January 6, 2009 I like this brand better then the sigg bottles because of its wide opening which makes the bottle easier to clean. I also like the size of the bottle - something I can easily put in my purse and carry around. Great product!
Good product January 6, 2009 SHIPPING: I surprisingly received it three days after ordering from Amazon. My second purchase the same order took a little over a week, even though I chose free shipping, which I thought meant they'd send them both at the same time with whichever being the latest. So, I liked that they sent each of them as soon as possible.
THE PRODUCT: I've had no problems whatsoever. The only minor complaint I have is that it had a metallic taste for the first week or so. I had to wash it out about 3-4 times to remove it.
In terms of further improvements, I wish it were dual-layered to help retain the cool/warm temperature without possibly effecting the surfaces it may touch, like foods or any kinds of surfaces that don't react well with moisture from the condensation. Also, in terms of to the touch as well, I'd prefer if they used some sort of outer coating that would make it more neutral temperature (eg. sitting in a car during the summer for a few hours) and that it had a fine sand paper-like texture for better grip. So there's room for improvement in advancing subtle comfort and ease of use, but it works well enough as advertised in my short experience.
No more plastic January 6, 2009 We bought these so we wouldn't have to buy cases of water in plastic bottles anymore. Aside from the whole plastic issue, we were tired of running out of water and not having any to take on walks. Now we can refill our Kleen Kanteens with our filtered water at home, and we're good to go.
The one problem I have run into with my pink Kanteen is that I have had it less than 2 months and it is already looking really rough. It chipped in a few places when I dropped it, and there are dents. Also some streaks where I guess it rubbed up against another object in m backpack. If I had to do it o ver again I would get the plain stainless one like my husband has - his has a dent from dropping it but still mostly looks nice.
Klean Kanteen January 6, 2009 Item arrived very promptly and was exactly what I ordered. The only issue with the product is when there is no liquid in the kanteen, when twisting the lid on or off it makes a very loud squeaky noise- HOWEVER- when liquids are present this noise goes away.
