Worked like a charm! December 16, 2008 This product was wonderful. It does need some padding on the shoulders but it did it's job. We moved an entire house of furniture and it really saved our backs!
Awesome, especially if you have limited upper body strength! December 15, 2008 Being a 60 year old woman, who always had limited upper body strength, short arms and back problems; this is too good to be true! I could not believe how easily I helped carry a sofa bed upstairs, something I could never have done at any age! I helped carry a wiggly mattress with ease. Go to shoulderdolly.com and watch the video, especially the very important info about how to navigate going up and down stairs. It works great when you follow the instructions EXACTLY. Using your arms correctly (pushing against the item), lifting with your legs , getting the strap positioned correctly and lifting high enough are the essentials in a successful move. Before lifting don't forget to tie up the extra strap length. O.K. guys, I know you don't like to read directions; but, it will be a breeze if you at least watch the short video. Like others stated, it can be a little rough on the neck. Wearing something with the collar up helps. I found some snap on protectors that my mom used to keep the seat belt from rubbing her neck and I am going to try these next time. Also, being a small frame person with very small shoulders, it tends to slip down some in the front on me. That makes it extremely important to make sure the strap is pulled tight enough for a correct height lift. I saw they had a heavy duty version for professional that is padded; however, at almost $300, I'll take this bargain and wear a shirt. 5 stars for lifting, 4 stars for the neck
Shoulder Dolly LD1000 December 12, 2008 The shoulder dolly is fantastic. I purchased it to move A/C condensers from a three story building to the back yard. I already have many more uses for it.
You got to have it around. December 4, 2008 I bought this Shoulder Dolly LD1000 one year ago but never ran into chance that need to use it....till last week.
Late last month, I got a new HDTV from black Friday sales to replace my 13 years old 37" console TV. But we had hard time to move the old heavy CRT TV from living room to garage. My wife does not have strong arm to work with me to move the TV. Suddenly, I remember I had bought something for lifting heavy stuff like this. Bingo....it is easy to set up the Shoulder Dolly. And my wife and I can easily lift up the heavy TV and move it from living room to garage.
I am happy to have this wonderful dolly around for situation like this. And My wife is surprised that this small thing can lift up such a heavy stuff.
Get one for yourself. One day, you will have a chance to use it.
Well worth the expense. Works nicely. December 3, 2008 I purchased the shoulder dolly to move large appliances into a newly renovated kitchen. The product is well worth the expense and works as advertised. We moved a very heavy range and refrigerator through a tight doorway with relative ease. This was simply not possible by lifting the appliance without the harness (hands would have been in the way). It could be improved with the addition of padding to the shoulder harness. If you wear a shirt with collar, it helps. It also helps if the two users are of relatively similar height. We have moved a stereo cabinet complete with television and components estimated at around 600lbs. This also would not have been possible without the dolly. Be aware that there are a few different versions (this one is "Light duty") and I didn't see that when I ordered. Nonetheless, it is strong enough for most household furniture and appliances.
