The serrated stainless steel blade and lightweight aluminum handle make this is one tough, all-purpose knife. View larger. | Innovation In A Compact Design The EVO Jr.'s profile reveals a seamless design that begins at the back of the blade and continues along the upper edge of the handle. This gives the knife the look, feel, and power of a dagger and makes it ideal for range of around-the-house and outdoor uses.Anodized Aluminum Handle for Lighter Weight To help give the knife a more powerful and aggressive feel--key if you're using it for rugged activities like cutting through brush or weeds--the anodized aluminum handle features seven slanting oval openings. Beyond their organic look, these openings also serve to further reduce the knife's overall weight, making it easier to handle and hold. Durable High Carbon Stainless Steel Construction Constructed of high carbon stainless steel coated with titanium nitride for increased corrosion resistance, the EVO Jr.'s blades can handle anything that comes their way, no matter what the conditions. A thumb stud and finger clip ensure easy one-handed operation--great for when you're holding a box ready for cutting in one hand, and the knife in the other. For an extra measure of safety, there's an internal finger guard. Compact for Portability The EVO Jr. has an overall length of 6.35 inches with a blade length of 2.75 inches and weighs just 1.8 ounces, so it's easy to toss it in a bag, backpack, or pocket. About Gerber: A History of Innovation Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that have contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939. It makes sense, really. An idea man gets the idea of a lifetime and turns it into a major outdoor brand--one that commands respect among knife lovers and knife makers alike. And now that same high regard is spreading in new directions, in the form of many outstanding products such as tools, personal L.E.D. lighting, and more. What's in the Box Gerber 22-41493 EVO Jr. Knife with Serrated Edge in clamshell packaging.

best knife i've owned August 30, 2010 Kelly (Pacific Northwest) I used this knife specifically for my work in the military, and the clip is perfect to fit in my right front pocket. I could crawl around in the dirt, jump and run around and the knife would always still be there in my pocket. I used it for a variety of uses from opening food containers to cutting rope or sharpening sticks for building shelters. It's also so small and convenient that whenever someone would need a knife i could whip it out of my pocket with ease before anyone else would have a chance to reach for their leatherman or gerber on their belt.
The only downside to this knife is that eventually I did lose it because i attached it to the front of my vest and then lost it while crawling around in some thick bushes. I wanted to look cool because someone else was wearing their knife on the front of their vest but the clip wasn't as secure there and it came loose. I'm confident that if I had kept it in my front pocket I'd still have it today. I'm ordering a new one though, and I suggest you do to! it's durrable and rugged and sure to stay in your pocket. Even the handle part of the knife has small holes so if need be you could dummy cord it with rope to your gear, belt, or wherever you use it the most.

good knife, strong & solid blade, easy to flick open, the blades only about 3 inches long, but thats ok it gets the job done, fits nicely in your hand
great knife July 13, 2010 Paul E (Jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is a great knife for the price. i've had one for about 2 years; it stays sharp, and is built sturdy enough to withstand some abuse. it far exceeds the usual quality for a knife this price.

This knife is one of the best knives I've ever owned. Highly recommend for everyday use.
Great little knife. May 26, 2010 Colin J. Fitzpatrick (Philly, USA) This Gerber makes for a nice pocket knife. As the Jr would imply its smaller, about the length of a pen unfolded and the blade is a bit longer than the short side of a credit card, but the blade is very sharp. It's a sleet design, the thumb studs and a small finger assist in the back make it very easy to open one handed, the hinge moves well out of the box and with a drop of oil is a breeze. The locking mechanism keeps the blade very stable and for a right-y like me is easy to push down and close the knife one handed as well. The matte black blade and heavy plastic handle make it rather cool looking too. Over all, very nice design and usability for a small pocket knife.
The shipping was also very speedy I had it with a few days of ordering and that included a Sunday, so overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.
