It's OK June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this as a Goldbox Lightning Deal for my wife for Valentine's Day. For $100, it's certainly reasonable, considering that 2-3 dozen roses in a vase runs about $60.
As far as the chain, it is small and mine also arrived quite tangled. Took maybe 10 minutes to unravel, and I gently put it back in the nice blue bag.
Despite what others say, the color is very good. I think it looks very similar to 950 Platinum (at least comparing it to my wedding ring). The manufacturer's name is 585 Karat, so I'm not sure what others were expecting but I thought the color might be a little off and it isn't. The pendant is hollow, smallish, and light, but this is not meant to make a big bold statement. I'd say it doesn't have a huge WOW! factor, but is a good "Thinking of you" item. So overall, it's OK.
It looks nice but the chain is so thin April 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
this is a nice necklace for someone who doesn't like big things on their neck. its very shiny, the design is also nice. the only problem is that the chain is so thin, it gets tangled easily. but over-all I love it. It is platinum, $99 gold deal price, its not solid platinum, its hollow inside.
I'm more than happy with it April 23, 2008 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
I bought this item on a gold box sale because it seemed 'like a bargain', a nice piece of jewellery something plainer than I already had. I actually read most of the reviews afterward I ordered it and before I recieved it because many were posted by people in that timeframe. I on-ship to Australia so it can take a few weeks to reach me.
The negative reviews read whilst waiting for my shipment, made me wonder what I had done and I feared I had made a mistake - of greater concern to me than someone living in the US, because it is so much more difficult to ship back from Australia. (Can be done but what a hassle)
I not only had this trepidation where I was not looking forward to receiving the item, but I was also initially a bit disappointed when I actually recieved it because it felt so light in weight when I opened the parcel. If I had lived in the US I would have returned it at this point, but I decided to chalk it up to experience and keep it because although light it still looked OK.
I then put it away and didn't remember that I had it for a few weeks. I have quite a bit of jewelery (which if you looked at all my reviews is quite obvious and I have more reviews to come when I recieve more items I have ordered). A lot of my workmates (& husband) know I like and buy jewelery and they often watch 'to see what I will wear in next' (or in the case of my husband - what I have bought). Some of my pieces are quite obvious and sometimes over the top for wearing to work. For example I have also bought a 1/2 carat diamond heart from Amazon, but whilst I like it, do not want to wear it to work most days.
I found myself one day wishing I had something light, pretty, 'not over the top'and not so obvious that someone would ask me if it was new and notice it. Along with all the above wishes I also wanted something to finish my outfit off as I needed something at the neck.
Then I remember this item. I put it on. I was surprised at how well it fullfilled my wishes and completed what I was wearing and also surprised that although light, that the size was just perfect and it also hung extremely well. I liked the smoothness and shape and in fact decided at this point that I like the shape and size so much, I wouldn't mind buying a yellow gold equivalent.
This is my third attempt at writing this review. I have updated it because it is obvious that I was not expressing myself well because I received 3 'not helpful' feedbacks.
However, I am impressed enough by this item after wearing it that I feel I should express that I am very happy with it to let people who are considering buying it know my thoughts so they can make their own decision. I did get it a gold box price, considerably lower that it is normally advertised for, so my comments are a reflection of my feeling that I have recieved a nice item for a fair price.
I disagree with some earlier comments that this item is a joke because I don't think it is. I also disagree with the comment about it's lack of shine. I suppose that it doesn't glisten as much as some things but mine still shines a bit and I like the way it looks and I think the look is appropriate for platinum. Some people would also say it is not 'real' platinum, but I say it is real enough and for $100 who cares!!
Packing job was horriable March 26, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After spending over a hour trying to get the chain untwisted it is a nice necklace. I would not think it is worth more then the 99.99 it was on "special sale" for. I would not say it was valued at 300.00 as the MSRP suggest.
Great Necklace, Great Price March 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I gave this Pendant to my wife for valentine's day. She absolutely loves it and I don't think she has taken it off since she got it.
