The Limited Deluxe Edition features 23 songs (an additional 7 songs) including all the original songs performed in the film by Jeff Bridges and Colin Farrell, "The Weary Kind" performed by Ryan Bingham (the theme song heard in the film's trailer and closing credits) and music featured in the film by Waylon Jennings, Lucinda Williams, Buck Owens, Sam Phillips and many more. It is packaged with a 12 page booklet featuring liner notes, lyrics and photographs. The soundtrack was co-produced by 10-time Grammy Award winner T Bone Burnett. Burnett, who co-produced the soundtrack with guitarist/songwriter Stephen Bruton. Synopsis Four-time Academy Award® nominee JEFF BRIDGES stars as the richly comic, semi-tragic romantic anti-hero Bad Blake, a broken-down, hard-living country music singer who's had way too many marriages, far too many years on the road and one too many drinks way too many times. And yet, Bad can t help but reach for salvation with the help of Jean (MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL), a journalist who discovers the real man behind the musician. Includes original music performed by the film's stars Jeff Bridges and Colin Ferrell and Texas-bred troubadour Ryan Bingham, co-writer (with Burnett) and performer of the standout closing song 'The Weary Kind (Theme From Crazy Heart)' which draws upon Bad Blake's emotional journey as an alcoholic seeking sobriety.

 Great movie, great soundtrack July 29, 2010

If you like "Crazy Heart," particularly the music in it, then you'll undoubtedly like this soundtrack. Jeff Bridges doesn't have a great voice, but then the same thing is true of lots of C&W stalwarts: e.g., Steve Earle, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, and so on. Colin Ferrell actually does have a good voice, and together they make good (not great) music. We thought the CD was well worth the money.

It was nice to hear the "old style" country come out in this soundtrack. Both Jeff Bridges and Coli Farrell performed surprisingly well on their cuts. The mix of old country with Blue Grass and Folk music was a good combination. I highly recommend this soundtrack to anyone that likes the older country sound. BTW....The movie was good too....not great but told a nice simple story.

Despite not being a big country music fan, I really enjoy this soundtrack, probably because I also enjoyed the movie. Jeff Bridges is a very credible country singer and the original music is very high quality and emotionally accessible. If you liked the movie, it's a no brainer to have the music around to enjoy as well. Ryan Bingham, who sings the albums title song, has a wonderful voice. So much so, that I got his album too and love it.
