I didn't realize that things with a heating element such as a toaster or toaster oven can't be plugged into this unit, apparently a safety issue, but I had other things (lamps) the units work well with.

We are very happy with this product. We have our entertainment center's power strip plugged into it and it handles it great. To shut down all that electricity we just have to click the red button on the remote! Works great.

I am not going to give you technical specs, they are in the product description. What I what to tell you is I plugged this device in a socket situated behind a heavy wood dresser drawer, connected the surge protector to it and tested it from my doorway, approximately 14 ft away, and it worked. I only have 2 criteria, that is a device is convenient and it works. This it is and does.

Very good product for saving electricity. Buy 2 sets -- you can set them all to the same "zone" or mix them up. You can have a remote at the door and a remote at your bedside, each controlling up to 4 outlets. I haven't had it long enough to judge savings or battery life. But this device, coupled with power strip timers intuitively automatically save electricity.

I love this item. It comes with a remote that does not require a direct line of sight. I use it on one of the plugs that hidden behind the tv stand. I can use the remote control from the kitchen, it would still work.
It shuts off everything that's plugged into the power cord, which plugged into the bye bye standby.
I can't wait to see my electric bill after I have put the item in place.
I strongly recommend this item if you want to save money on electricity. You will not regret it.
