Amazon.com Product Description
Utilizing clean-burning propane, the ETQ PG30P11 Portable Generator provides quiet, efficient, and cost-effective power to electrical appliances. You'll get the performance you need thanks to a seven-horsepower, 208-cc engine that produces up to 3,500 watts of energy--enough power to run your TV, refrigerator, water heater, or other household appliance. Great for power outages, light industrial applications, or recreational use, this generator connects to any standard-sized propane grill tank and has an oversized muffler for quiet operation.

The ETQ PG30P11 Portable Generator offers:
  • Clean-burning, 7 HP, 4-cycle, propane-powered engine produces up to 3,500 watts
  • Alternator technology for safe electricity delivery
  • Uses 1-1/2 lbs. of propane per hour under a 50% load
  • 120-volt GFCI outlet and 30 AMP outlet are circuit-breaker protected
  • Heavy-duty steel construction for durability; weighs just 106 lbs.

All of the generator's outlets are circuit-breaker protected to safeguard your electronics. View larger.
Powerful Engine with Oversized Muffler for Quiet Operation
The PG30P11 features a powerful, seven horsepower, 208-cc, four-stroke, propane-powered OHV engine that is capable of producing 3,000 continuous watts and 3,500 maximum watts. Its pull recoil makes for easy, reliable starts every time. And with a quick-connect coupler, it hooks up easily to any gas grill's propane tank (not included).

Eco-friendly, this generator uses only 1-1/2 pounds of gas per hour under a 50-percent load, meaning you can enjoy your appliances for hours on end without worrying about your carbon footprint.

The engine isn't just powerful, it's also quiet. Thanks to its oversized muffler, the generator produces sound at just 65 decibels during operation, making it an ideal choice for camping.

Alternator Technology Safely Delivers Electricity to Your Appliances
One of the most innovative features of the PG30P11 is its ETQ Clean Sine Alternator Technology that ensures low total harmonic distortion (THD). THD is a measure of the quality of the electricity produced by a generator, and THD above six percent can damage electronics and other components over time. With THD of less than five percent, the PG30P11 ensures high-quality, safe delivery of electricity from the generator to your electrical components.

With low THD, this generator is computer-friendly, meaning it's completely safe to use with laptops, printers, desktop computers, and more. The PG30P11 will give you peace of mind knowing that your computer hardware is completely safe from power surges and bad-quality electricity.

3,500 Watts of Power to Handle Most of Your Household Electronics
The PG30P11 produces up to 3,500 watts of power to run most of your electrically powered household items. You can use the 120-volt, 20-amp GFCI protected dual outlet to power lamps, TVs, computers, fans, or other low-wattage appliances all at the same time. Or take advantage of the 30-amp outlet to power higher wattage electrical components and appliances. Both outlets are circuit-breaker protected for complete safety from power surges that can damage your appliances and equipment.

Heavy-Duty Steel Construction That's Built for Portability
Everything from the heavy-duty cast iron engine to the durable rolled steel tubing surround is built to last. Weighing 106 pounds and measuring just 25.5 x 21 x 19.5 inches (LxWxH), this generator is easy to move and store.

Propane Power is Eco-Friendly, Affordable, and Convenient
Propane is a clean-burning fuel that is better for the environment than regular gasoline. It's also very inexpensive and convenient to use. One propane tank can power both your propane gas grill and your PG30P11 Portable Generator; simply switch the quick-connect coupler and you're ready to go.

The ETQ PG30P11 LP Portable Generator is backed by a one-year manufacturer's warranty.

4 out of 5 stars A Solid Buy   September 8, 2010
Happy Campers
Went "dry camping" at Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend. As a former mechanic, I never messed w/propane power prior to buying this unit. There's some great advice in the other reviews, so I'll just touch on a few things. One, the oil FILL is easy to find; it takes about 6/10ths of a quart to start, but check it after the first run as it will likely take another 1/10 to 2/10. The oil DRAIN plugs are not marked but there were 2 on my unit (front and back) in the bottom of the housing. Two, the small brass screw in the top is a METERING screw to control the proper flow of fuel DO NOT MESS WITH IT!!!!!! (You will tear your hair out getting it to run smoothly; I'm almost bald from the experience!!!!) Three, starting the unit with the air filter out is not a good thing (even though it works). Even better, go to a hardware store that deals with your local lawncare pros, and buy a filter (ROTARY P/N 27-10311) that's the size and density of the stock unit or bigger BUT ONLY TWO THIRDS AS THICK. (I used my stock filter as a pattern to cut the Rotary filter.) Oil it down as you would any "wet" filter but squeeze it out in an old towel or several paper towels; my stock filter was WAY too saturated to allow air through it!) Four, it only took one time of "choking" it to begin running when cold; but I had to re-try six to eight times to get it to stay running after changing tanks. Five, it is NOT conversation quiet; but was not louder than most of the units around us. Honda "quiet" is way too expensive for a few times a year at the track.
Now, the good stuff: after a few moments of running it smoothed out and took the load I put to it. (Camping World sells the L5-30R 30amp to 50amp "dog bone" adapter you Montana owners will need.) My rig uses a 15,000 btu A/C unit which I powered up first, then the on-board converter, the regular lights, Fantastic fan, and the water pump. I only mention these items to give an idea of the load range. We ran 17 hours on one 30 lb tank. (Ran the fridge on the other propane tank.) BEST BENEFIT: not having to lug around gasoline,
which BTW was NOT available on site. Great unit for the money!

4 out of 5 stars Propane Generator   September 3, 2010
D. Coker (Victoria, Tx.)
This item was purchased for use at home and when traveling in a fifth wheel. It does not provide the wattage needed for large items but will keep the a/c unit running in a 30 amp trailer which is good for summer use. It did provide power for small tools but would throw the breaker if the item got into a bind. All-in-all this generator should work well for the cost and use I wanted. One of the big pluses for propane is you don't have to drain and bleed the lines when not in used for a long time.

4 out of 5 stars Good value, some problems   August 31, 2010
Pat Pending
The manual is very poorly written. Example, the "LPG denser device (bottom)" is actually a red button on the TOP of the generator.

The generator started on the second pull with the choke set open. Manual says to set the choke lever to "choke", but there is no such labeled setting. The choke lever is labeled either "open" or "close". Setting the lever to open sets the choke OFF and that is the best way to start. The "denser bottom" is actually the red button on top and should be pressed briefly if you have just connected the LPG tank. This allows gas to flow. Only press it briefy (less than a second, you'll hear gas flowing).

My generator "galloped" (throttle oscilates, makes a broom-broom sound rather than a constant running sound). I called the help desk and talked to a tech and he gave me accurate instruction on how to correct this. I did it in less than 15 minutes.

If you don't find the tool kit that is supposed to ship with the generator, look above the muffler. You'll find the tool kit there.

Finally, don't forget oil. You can get a 1/2 quart container at any hardware store. Also, get an oil funnel with a flexible neck to make it easier to pore the oil into the tight location.

5 out of 5 stars Great Generator   August 18, 2010

This is an awesome generator. Quiet compared to similar gas powered models. No fuel spills. Started up easily (must add oil first). Convenient and low priced machine. Barely bogs down when running the AC in my early 80's RV.

4 out of 5 stars Worked great   August 16, 2010
Walter Fry (Houston, TX United States)
The generator worked great first time right out of the box, followed the instructions for prep and started right up. No problems. I like that it uses the same LPG that my grill uses.
